Other
Age of Fishes Museum
A chance discovery in 1955, just outside Canowindra, revealed an extensive fossil bed dating from the Devonian Period. This 360 million year old formation contained the fossilised remains of over 3500 freshwater fish. Many were new to science. This unique fossil collection is now on public display at the Age of Fishes Museum on the corner of Gaskill and Ferguson Street, Canowindra.
Open hours are 10am to 4pm, 7 days, including most Public Holidays.

Nangar National Park
If natural wonders take your interest, a short drive northwest of Canowindra will reveal the Nangar National Park. From the lookout on top of the ridge you can see the vast valley below and particularly during spring, beautiful flowering plants are in abundance. There are interesting walks and views from the escarpment that provide a rewarding experience and splendid scenery.
