History of swinging bridge.....
The Swinging Bridge is a historical wooden pedestrain bridge, situated to the south end of Canowindra. It spans the Belubula River linking the main town to South Canowindra.

Swinging Bridge - Belubula River
The original footbridge was placed at the end of Finns Lane and was completed at the start of 1928. At a cost of £315, it was financed in equal thirds by Waugoola Shire, Boree Shire and local residents. For a few brief years it doubled as a diving platform for the local swimming hole until the bridge was washed away by the big flood of 1934. In its place was the wooden pedestrian suspension bridge completed in 1938 which remained for over 50 years until replaced in 1998.
During floods it is one of the only ways over the swirling Belubula River at Canowindra. It is still a favourite swimming hole for locals, although the drought has certainly affected this in the last couple of years.
