Welcome to Swinging Bridge Estate a small, family owned vineyard at Canowindra, New South Wales in the heart of the Central Ranges. The vineyard was established by the Ward and Payten families in the scenic Belubula Valley overlooking the Swinging Bridge, a local landmark, in the historical town of Canowindra.

Our 2008 Swinging Bridge Shiraz has received a Gold Medal at the Royal Sydney Wine Show. Great reward for our winemakers at one of Australia's premier wine shows. The 2008 Chardonnay also performed well also taking out a Bronze Medal.
The latest wine reviews for our 2008 Shiraz are coming up trumps:
Winestate Magazine "A powerful fresh blackberry-scented red with a spicy overtone. Should improve over the next 2-3 years. ($20.00) Highly Recommended Excellent Value."
Ken Gargett of the Courier Mail says, "Lean albeit muscular structure with notes of licquorice, dark berries and mixed spicies. Good acidity.
It also took the fancy of wine writer Winsor Dobbin - "This was one of my favourite wines from a recent trip to Canowindra and Orange in the Central West of NSW - and it's all the more meritorious because it follows in the footsteps of the much-awarded 2007 shiraz, which is all but sold out. Winemakers Chris Derrez and Tom Ward have got it right again with a wine that has excellent complexity but is also very easy to drink. Dark berries and spice characters are prominent and this has already won a gold medal at the Royal Sydney Wine Show. Excellent value..."
