Swinging Bridge Chardonnay wins Best Wine of Show
We’re thrilled to share that our 2022 Caldwell Lane Chardonnay has won Best Wine of Show at the Orange Wine Show. Announced at the presentation lunch at the Ian Armstrong Building this afternoon, the Chardonnay received Best Mature Chardonnay, Best Chardonnay and Best White Wine before being presented the prestigious honour of Best Wine of Show.
“With the success that the Orange region has had on a National stage this year, it’s humbling to be competing alongside producers of such a high calibre”, said Swinging Bridge Winemaker and Owner, Tom Ward.
“This win is a credit to the ongoing efforts of the team in growing the best grapes and producing the best wines we can in this fantastic region.”
Back to back success for Swinging Bridge
This success marks two consecutive years of Best Wine of Show for the team, with our William J. Shiraz taking out the trophy in 2023. The win was also accompanied by Tom also being awarded Vigneron of the Year for his efforts at our premier Hill Park Vineyard. His dedicated, hands-on approach in improving fruit quality by prioritising soil health, leveraging emerging data and research as well as grafting and replanting varietals better suited to the conditions has driven the vineyard’s success.
